Because if this is gonna be a Christian nation that DOESN’T help the poor, either we’ve got to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we’ve got to acknowledge that he commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition—and then admit that we just don’t want to do it.
At their conference today, NASA scientist Felisa Wolfe Simon will announce that they have found a bacteria whose DNA is completely alien to what we know today. Instead of using phosphorus, the bacteria uses arsenic. All life on Earth is made of six components: carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorus and sulfur. Every being, from the smallest amoeba to the largest whale, share the same life stream. Our DNA blocks are all the same.
Kick ASS!!! Oh and I think NASA should issue a nationwide “I told you so” to anyone that has ever doubted their work.
I wonder if this means that NASA has to start over for their search for ET life or not. If they were looking for habitable planets that would only be habitable to beings like us, I think this would show that there is a possibility for life that might live on a planet that’s completely unlike our own.
It amazes me everyday how more people aren’t upset by the HUGE income disparity there is in this country. The scary part is that it only seems to be getting larger. Even in the smaller scale of salary differences within a company, why is it acceptable for the CxOs to make ten times or more in salary than their workers. What do the CxOs do that is worth that much more, go to meetings all day? Maybe I just don’t understand because I don’t have an MBA and never have aspired to be “management material”, but issues like these have been eating at me for a while now and it feels like I’m the only one that notices these things. I hope I’m not the only one because the rich are only getting richer according to history. I wonder at what point will the masses stop accepting the status quo and do something about it.
